Job Description

The Opportunity

One of the most respected civil/surveying firms in the region is seeking a Senior Survey Project Manager to lead multiple high-profile transportation and infrastructure projects. With work already in the pipeline from NJDOT, NJ Turnpike Authority, Garden State Parkway, and NYC public agencies (including DDC), this is a chance to join a team where your expertise will immediately impact major public works in the NY/NJ region.

The firm has invested heavily in attracting top-tier talent, including raising the budget to $200k (Annual salary), to secure a true industry leader who can both manage the technical and client-facing aspects of complex survey projects.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and manage multiple large-scale highway and right-of-way survey projects from kickoff through delivery.
  • Oversee a team of office and field staff, ensuring schedules, budgets, and quality standards are met.
  • Serve as the main client liaison for public agencies, preparing proposals, scopes, budgets, and billing.
  • Coordinate closely with civil engineering teams and ensure deliverables align with DOT/public agency requirements.
  • Provide technical oversight and quality control for survey deliverables, including ROW mapping and ALTA surveys.
  • Support the hiring and mentoring of field crews and party chiefs.

What We’re Looking For

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in land surveying project management, with a focus on transportation, ROW, and public agency work.
  • Proven track record with NJDOT and NYC public agencies (DDC experience highly preferred).
  • Well-rounded - strong in both field and office operations.
  • Licensed Professional Land Surveyor in NJ and/or NY preferred, but not required.
  • Strong proposal writing, budgeting, and client management skills.
  • Leadership ability to manage multiple projects and keep teams running efficiently.

Why This Role?

  • High-impact projects that shape transportation infrastructure in NJ and NYC.
  • Top-of-market pay - up to $200k base for the right candidate.
  • Strong backlog of work - you’ll step into immediate, billable projects.
  • Small enough to be nimble, big enough to have the resources you need.
