Location: Sarasota, FL

Company: Imerza

Position Type: Full-time

About Us

At Imerza, we are pioneers in architectural visualization software, specializing in digital twins and real-estate marketing. By merging cutting-edge technology with artistic precision, we transform concepts into immersive, real-time experiences.

We’re seeking a skilled Technical Writer to develop, organize, and maintain technical documentation that supports our visualization platform, Unreal Engine systems, and internal tools. This role ensures that complex technical processes are clearly documented and accessible to our cross-disciplinary teams, empowering collaboration across development, art, and production.

Job Summary

The Technical Writer will collaborate closely with engineers, artists, producers, and IT staff to translate technical information into clear and consistent documentation. You will create structured content for internal knowledge bases, APIs, build processes, and system integrations—helping Imerza’s teams work smarter, faster, and more efficiently. This position is designed for a technically savvy communicator with a strong understanding of real-time 3D workflows, Unreal Engine, and software development practices.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive Salary with performance-based bonuses.
  • Comprehensive Benefit Package, 401(k) Plan, and Paid Time Off.
  • Collaborative, innovative team environment with exciting projects.
  • Stability and professional growth opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation for Unreal Engine tools, APIs, systems, and pipelines.
  • Partner with developers and technical leads to capture new features, workflows, and release updates.
  • Create standardized templates and consistent documentation frameworks for internal use.
  • Maintain and organize documentation repositories (Confluence, Notion, Git, or Perforce).
  • Author and update release notes, change logs, and version histories.
  • Write internal guides and onboarding materials to support cross-team collaboration.
  • Collaborate with QA and IT to document deployment, testing, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Ensure all documentation meets clarity, accessibility, and formatting standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Computer Science, or a related field—or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3–5 years of experience as a Technical Writer in a software, visualization, or game development environment.
  • Strong understanding of Unreal Engine and its core components (Blueprints, C++, rendering, or pipelines).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with documentation tools such as Confluence, Notion, or Markdown.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (Perforce, Git) and build tools (Jenkins or similar).
  • Ability to manage multiple documentation projects and deadlines with minimal supervision.

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience working within an Unreal Engine production or visualization studio.
  • Background in technical art, scripting, or QA documentation.
  • Familiarity with pipeline automation, API documentation, or developer portal design.
  • Experience writing for mixed technical and creative audiences.

Additional Requirements:

  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • This position is based in Sarasota, FL; candidates who can work onsite or relocate are preferred. Exceptional remote candidates based in the U.S. will also be considered.

How to Apply: Please submit your application through this website and email your résumé, cover letter, and a link to your portfolio showcasing your work to Careers@imerza.com .

We look forward to seeing your creativity and talent!
