Hybrid Telework Opportunity

Under direction, incumbents may perform a wide variety of tasks requiring regular, innovative problem solving within broadly stated and non-specific guidelines. The scope typically includes multiple program areas and involves planning, developing and implementing technological solutions that are essential to the missions of the overall organization or affect large numbers of people on a long-term or continuous basis in the Client Services and System Engineering domains.

The incumbent leads and participates in Tier 2 and Tier 3 network, server, enterprise application, and infrastructure support services as part of the Enterprise Infrastructure Group. The incumbent leads and participates in server installations, upgrades, backups, and patching. The incumbent will lead and participate in managing HCAI network equipment and internet connections. Incumbent troubleshoots technical issues with software and hardware in support of Tier 2 and Tier 3 duties. Incumbent leads and participates in documenting activities performed and writes knowledge base articles. The incumbent is responsible for the maintenance and operations of automation and monitoring tools.

Working Conditions

HCAI offers a hybrid telework schedule with a combination of remote and in-office work schedules  for CA residents only.  The telework policy is subject to change, and additional in-office days may be required and/or minimal notification may be given to report to the worksite if an urgent need arises.

Telework schedules: The expectation is that all staff will work in office 4 days a week July 1, 2026.

Special Requirements

Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment. If you are meeting Minimum Qualifications with education, you must include a copy of your unofficial transcripts and/or license for verification. Official sealed transcripts will be required upon appointment. If it is determined an application does not meet the Minimum Qualifications, the applicant will be withheld from the eligibility list, rendering them inactive and ineligible to be hired for the position. Applicants who have been withheld may file an appeal with the State Personnel Board.

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

• 1-3 years experience in customer service
• 1-3 years experience in technology support
• 1-3 years experience with Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms
• 1-3 years experience with network infrastructure support
• 1-3 years experience with enterprise application support
• 1-3 years experience with server infrastructure support
• 1-3 years experience with enterprise IT security
• 1-3 years experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• 1-2 years experience using IT Service Management (ITSM)
