Special Education Teacher – School-Based

Hershey, PA

Are you passionate about empowering children with diverse needs to reach their full potential? We're hiring a compassionate and committed Special Education Teacher to join our school-based team. If you're skilled in delivering specialized instruction, developing individualized education plans, and supporting students with autism or other behavioral health needs, this role is for you. In this position, you'll play a key role in creating a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment that helps children thrive academically, socially, and behaviorally.

What You'll Do As A Special Education Teacher:

• Plan and deliver specialized instruction tailored to each student's individualized education plan (IEP)
• Adapt lessons and materials to meet the diverse needs of children with learning differences
• Teach social, emotional, and behavioral skills using principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
• Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of IEPs in collaboration with families and support staff
• Track student progress using data-driven decision-making to ensure meaningful academic and behavioral gains
• Maintain accurate records and support compliance with all special education requirements

Requirements For Our Special Education Teacher:

• Bachelor's degree in special education or a related field
• Active Special Education Certification from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
• Completion of Safe Crisis Management Training (provided if needed)
• Willingness and ability to meet the physical demands of working with children (standing, kneeling, lifting, etc.)
• Participation in Back-to-School Night and required professional development
• A valid driver's license with a clean driving record

Our Ideal Special Education Teacher:

• Experience working with children with autism using ABA strategies is highly desired
• Excellent problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills
• A team player who communicates well and adapts to student needs
• Ability to travel between school sites as needed

What We Offer Our Special Education Teacher:

• Starting Salary: $54,000/year (increases with education/certification)
• Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week) with no evenings or weekends
• 205-day school calendar plus 13 professional development days
