The University of Miami UHealth – Pharmacy Department at SoLé Mia has an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacist.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

• Implements and maintains procedures for mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals, according to policies and legal requirements, to ensure quality, security, and proper disposal.

• Compounds and dispenses medications , as prescribed by doctors and dentists, by calculating, weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients .

• Calculates the volume of medication required to produce the desired resul ts to ensure proper dosages.

• Assesses the identity, strength , and purity of medications.

• Reviews presc riptions to en sure accuracy, ascerta in the needed ingredients, and evaluate suitability.

• Provides information and advice regarding drug interactions, side effects, dosage , a nd storage.

• Analyzes prescription trends to mo nitor patient compliance and prevent inappropriate usage or harmful interactions.

• Maintains records, such as p harmacy and system files, patient profiles, inventories, control records for radio active nuclei, and registries for poisons, narcotics, and controlled drugs.

• Advises customers on the selection of medic ation brands, medical equipment, and health care supplies.

• Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Pharm.D. degree

Certification and Licensing:

Certification in relevant specialty or field

Experience:

Minimum 1 year of relevant experience

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

• Skill in collecting, organizing and analyzing data.
• Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
