Litigation Legal Secretary – Maritime Law

A well-established law firm is seeking a Litigation Legal Secretary with a strong background in supporting attorneys handling complex litigation matters. This full-time position plays a key role in coordinating legal operations, maintaining documentation, and supporting litigation attorneys in all stages of case management, with a specific emphasis on maritime law.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare, format, and revise legal documents such as pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and discovery materials.
• Manage electronic and physical filing of documents with federal, state, and administrative courts/agencies.
• Organize and maintain case files and litigation materials to ensure timely access to critical information.
• Monitor and maintain legal calendars, including court dates, deadlines, meetings, and other time-sensitive events.
• Provide general administrative support including answering calls, managing correspondence, and handling confidential information appropriately.

Qualifications:

• 2–3 years of litigation support experience in a legal setting, preferably with exposure to maritime or transportation law.
• Strong understanding of legal procedures, court filing systems, and e-filing protocols.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and legal case management tools.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational ability, and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workload in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation:

• Hourly rate: $40/hour
• Full-time, in-office position with potential for long-term placement
