Endocrinologist (MD/DO) – Opportunity in Birmingham, AL making $300,000+Bonus

Role Overview

The Endocrinologist will provide outpatient consultative and longitudinal care for complex endocrine and metabolic disorders in a value-based care environment. The focus is on proactive disease management and prevention of complications.

We are seeking a well-trained and compassionate Endocrinologist (MD/DO) to join our growing specialty care team. This position provides a unique opportunity to practice within a multidisciplinary care model designed to proactively manage diabetes and endocrine disorders, with a strong focus on preventing complications such as lower-extremity wounds and amputations. This position is a clinic-based setting with the ability to provide both consultative and longitudinal care, supported by care coordination teams and advanced technologies.

Compensation

  • $300,000+ base salary (flexible based on experience)

  • Bonus structure available

Schedule

  • Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

  • No nights or weekends

  • Minimal hospital rounding (site dependent)

Practice Model

  • Value-Based Outpatient Endocrinology

  • Geriatric-focused patient population

  • Small patient panel 12–16 patients per day

  • Dedicated support team:

    • Medical Assistant

    • Scheduler

    • Referral Specialist

    • Social Worker

    • Pharmacist

  • Additional specialty support: Nurse Practitioner and Podiatry

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage diabetes, thyroid, adrenal, pituitary, and metabolic disorders

  • Develop and oversee individualized treatment plans

  • Order and interpret labs, imaging, and diagnostic testing

  • Educate patients and families on disease management, medications, and diabetes technologies (CGMs/pumps

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical protocol development

Requirements

  • MD or DO

  • Board Certified (or Board Eligible) in Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism

  • Internal Medicine background required

  • Prior clinical experience required ( no fellows )

  • Active medical license (or ability to obtain)

  • DEA license (or eligibility)

  • Value-Based Care experience preferred, not required

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with:

    • Continuous Glucose Monitors (CGMs)

    • Insulin pumps

    • Geriatric or complex chronic populations
