Compensation : $125,000 - $200,000 Annual Salary

Position Description:

We are looking for a dedicated Billing Manager for our Psychiatric Hospitals headquartered in West Hempstead, NY.

• Qualifications of the Billing Manager :

• Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field — or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of medical billing experience within a for-profit psychiatric or behavioural health organisation, including demonstrated supervisory or management experience.
• In-depth knowledge of behavioural health and psychiatric billing practices, covering Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial insurance, as well as credentialing across multiple state licenses.
• Proven experience managing multi-site billing teams and overseeing operations across multiple facilities, including transitions between outsourced and in-house billing functions.
• Strong analytical, compliance, and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of leading process improvements and managing cross-state teams effectively.

Responsibilities of the Billing Manager:

• Oversee all billing operations for psychiatric hospitals and remote facilities, managing both in-house and outsourced teams across OH, LA, NY, and FL.
• Lead the transition of billing operations from outsourced to in-house, developing and implementing policies, procedures, and technology integrations across all licenses and locations.
• Supervise billing departments (1 in OH and 3 in LA), provide staff training, and ensure full compliance with Medicaid, Medicare, and managed care regulations across all facilities.
• Monitor accounts receivable, denials, collections, and revenue cycle performance; prepare and present regular financial and operational reports to senior leadership.
• Partner with clinical, finance, and IT departments to streamline processes, maintain credentialing, ensure accurate coding and documentation, manage audits, and optimise reimbursement.
