Position: Auto Body Shop Manager
Location: Bertera Chevrolet, Palmer, MA.
Salary Range: $50,000 to $70,000 Annually
Bertera Chevrolet is a leading automotive dealership known for its exceptional level of customer service and commitment to quality. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Auto Body Shop Manager to oversee our busy Auto Body Shop operations.
Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day operations of the Auto Body Shop, ensuring efficient workflow and completion of repairs within defined timelines
- Coordinate with service advisors, technicians, and other departments to ensure seamless communication and alignment
- Assign work orders to technicians based on their skills and experience, and supervise their progress to ensure quality repairs
- Ensure accurate estimation of repair costs and time required for each job, taking into consideration parts, labor, and materials required
- Monitor and ensure adherence to safety and compliance regulations within the shop, maintaining a safe working environment for all employees
- Manage inventory of auto body parts and supplies, ensuring availability of required materials at all times while minimizing wastage and loss
- Oversee customer interactions and address any concerns or complaints in a timely and professional manner, striving to exceed customer expectations
- Collaborate with the parts department to ensure timely procurement of parts and materials required for repairs
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, warranty claims, and completed work orders
- Stay updated with industry trends, new repair techniques, and evolving technology within the automotive industry
- Conduct regular performance evaluations of technicians and provide necessary coaching and training for skill enhancement
- Implement and enhance standard operating procedures to improve the overall efficiency and profitability of the Auto Body Shop
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Auto Body Shop Manager or in a similar leadership role within the automotive industry
- Excellent knowledge of auto body repair processes, techniques, and industry standards
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize work effectively
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with customers and employees
- Proficient in computer systems and auto body shop management software
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure situations with a customer-centric approach
- Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures within an auto body shop
- Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality repairs
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
